Developing A Night Routine

Developing A Night Routine

Nighttime is a time of relaxation and sleep. During certain parts of the sleep cycle, your body goes to work healing and repairing any wounds that could have come from the day. This process can be helped further depending on the products we use in our nighttime routine.

Self Care Tips:

  1. Make sure to use a cleanser that cleans your skin and helps it depending on your skin type. During the day your face gets attacked by everything from the dirt in the air to your own sebum (oil) build up. Furthermore, if you wear makeup, it is best to clean it off as it can clog your pores. If you wear make up a lot and are looking for a good cleanser, I would recommend using Green Apple Premium Cleanser to remove your make-up as well as leave your skin feeling fresh. Night time is also the best time to double cleanse your skin with your regular cleanser and then a scrub such as Jojoba Cleansing Bead Scrub. Jojoba Scrub gently massages away dry, dead skin, while also clearing out pores.
  2. Add moisture to your skin. It is interesting to note that your skin actually becomes drier at night than during the day. This has to do with the fact that your body’s sebum production decreases, which leads to a loss of moisture in your skin. In order to reduce this happening, you can either add moisture to your skin with a serum such as Moisture B5, or you can use a moisturizer, such as Clear Complex PM Gel. Moisture B5 is a serum that can be used in both your day and night care that helps your skin retain moisture by providing it with a protective layer. Clear Complex PM Gel is a moisturizing gel that provides your skin with extra moisture in the night.

Make your nighttime routine relaxing and enjoyable. Remember this routine should make you feel relaxed and ready to get beauty sleep. I find that slowly massaging my face as I apply my moisturizer really relaxes me and sets my mind to want to go to bed. For some, even putting on relaxing music can set the mood to go to sleep. Furthermore, your nighttime skin routine doesn't have to be hard either. It can consist of a simple cleanser, toner, serum, and then moisturizer. Always remember that your nighttime routine is just that...yours!
