UNDERSTANDING
As you age, your skin not only thins out and becomes less elastic and more fragile, but the fatty tissue just below the skin decreases. You might notice that you bruise more easily, and the decreased production of natural oils might make your skin drier, wrinkles and age spots appear, and small growths called skin tags are also more common.
None of this so-called “intrinsic aging” of skin can be avoided. Most of the skin changes associated with aging are avoidable, as most of them are due to one main cause: environmental pollutants like UV rays of sun damage.
